Airlangga: Advanced Indonesia Coalition Will Discuss PPP Signs to Join Prabowo-Gibran

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto gave a press statement at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta after attending a limited meeting chaired by President Jokowi and attended by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin on Tuesday (16/4/2024). Airlangga stated that so far there have been no discussions regarding PPP's plan to join or invitations for PPP to join the Koalisi Indonesia Maju. When asked if there is a possibility of providing ministerial seats in the future government for PPP, Airlangga admitted that he did not know anything about it. Previously, on Monday (15/4/2024) night, the Acting Chairperson of PPP Mardiono attended a halalbihalal event held by Golkar Party at the Golkar Party's DPP office in Jakarta. During the event, Mardiono was the only representative from a political party that did not support the presidential-vice presidential candidate pair of Prabowo-Gibran. When asked about the possibility of PPP joining a coalition party, Mardiono said he could not answer yet. He reasoned that it was waiting for the inauguration of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates in October. In addition, PPP is currently still focused on monitoring the process of the 2024 Presidential Election dispute in the Constitutional Court.
