Three weeks missing, Didi was found buried under the floor of her house

Police found the body of a resident who was a murder victim at his home in West Bandung on Tuesday afternoon.

The police evacuated the body of Didi Hartanto, who was buried in his house in the Bumi Citra Indah complex, Pataruman Village, Cihampelas District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, on Tuesday (16/4/2024).

BANDUNG, KOMPAS — The mystery of the disappearance of Didi Hartanto (42) since the end of March has been revealed. Police found Didi's body buried in his house, Bumi Citra Indah complex, Pataruman Village, Cihampelas District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, Tuesday (16/4/2024). Didi became a victim of murder committed by Ijal (31), a casual worker who usually cleaned the houses of Didi and local residents.

From Kompas's monitoring, Tuesday (16/4/2024), at around 09.00 WIB, the Cimahi Police and West Java Police Inafis team dug a hole in the back of the floor of his house to look for Didi's body. This process was witnessed by dozens of residents in the complex from a distance of around 100 meters.

The location of the murder of a resident named Didi Hartanto in his home, located in Bumi Citra Indah housing complex, Pataruman village, Cihampelas sub-district, West Bandung regency, on Tuesday (16/4/2024). Didi had only been residing in the location for about two years.

Didi lives alone in the house. His daily job is at the Bandung Marine and Fisheries Quality Control and Supervision Agency (BPPMHKP). He has been staying there for about two years.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator Ijal worked in an odd job of cleaning the victim's house and other residents in the complex. The police arrested Ijal on Monday, April 15, 2024.

"Based on the investigation of the report from relatives, the perpetrator I was arrested in Cianjur (Monday) around 23.00. The motive of this case, the perpetrator was angry because the victim had not paid his cleaning fee of Rp 300,000," said Surawan.

The Director of General Crime Investigation of the West Java Regional Police, Commissioner General Surawan, was met in West Bandung Regency, West Java, on Tuesday (16/4/2024).

Ijal was named a suspect. He was charged with Article 338 juncto Article 340 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).

"The perpetrator was charged with articles regarding abuse to the point of taking someone's life and premeditated murder," said Surawan.

Aldi added that the perpetrator not only killed the victim, but also stole several valuable items belonging to the victim. These items include a motorcycle, house certificate, and mobile phone.

"The victim's body was brought to Sartika Asih Hospital for autopsy. This case was revealed after a report of a missing person was filed by the victim's relatives at the end of last month," he added.

Andriani, one of Didi's colleagues, admitted to being very surprised by the murder case against the victim. She did not expect the victim, who had worked at the BPPMHKP Bandung office for 12 years, to have passed away.

"We at the office began to suspect something when Didi didn't come to work for three days. We came to Didi's house several times, but couldn't find him," stated Andriani.
