One of the things that has been provided is infrastructure facilities, including furniture, for President Joko Widodo who plans to work at IKN. "While the filling process is ongoing, for us, the most important thing is quality, not quantity," he said.

Preparations for the commemoration of RI's 79th Anniversary at IKN have been carried out since January 2024. Previously, Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas gave a press statement at the Office of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Jakarta , Wednesday (17/4/2024), said that his party had developed a strategy to move the state civil apparatus (ASN) to the capital city of the archipelago.

Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas gave a press statement at the Ministry of Communication and Information's office in Jakarta on Wednesday (17/4/2024).

In the initial stage, the government will relocate 11,916 civil servants from 38 ministries/agencies. This will be followed by the relocation of 6,774 civil servants from 29 M/A, and 14,237 civil servants from 59 M/A. The relocation schedule is planned after the 79th anniversary ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN in September 2024.

The scenario of moving civil servants to the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (IKN) is one of President Joko Widodo's orders to ensure that the capital relocation process does not run slowly, as has happened in Australia and Brazil. "This relocation is adjusting to the availability of housing and infrastructure in IKN," said Azwar Anas.

Those who moved to IKN in the early stages were designed to receive pioneer benefits. Every ASN employee who moves to IKN will also receive one unit of housing (1 ASN 1 unit) in the form of official residence or apartment.

The head of the IKN Development Task Force, Danis Sumadilaga, once explained about the readiness of settlements for government employees who will move. Overall, 47 apartment towers for government employees will be completed by December 2024. However, in June-July, 12 apartments are already usable. Only in September, nine more completed apartments will be added, and by November-December, the entire 47 apartments will be finished.

"Around June-July, there were 12 apartments and 1 apartment, with 12 floors and each floor having five apartment units with a size of 98 square meters. So, one apartment has 60 units and each unit has three rooms. If you are still single, you can share one unit," said Danis in an interview on March 11, 2024."

Using such calculations, one apartment tower can accommodate 180 single civil servants. Meanwhile, 12 apartment towers can hold more than 2,000 people.

Danis stated that the transfer of civil servants will be conducted gradually. All facilities, including the housing of civil servants, ministers, as well as the Palace and Presidential Office, will be tested for all their functions and conditions in June-July 2024. Therefore, they must all meet the planned service standards.
