Prabowo asks his supporters not to hold demonstrations in front of the MK building

Prabowo Subianto asked his supporters not to hold any demonstrations in other places and on the streets.

The presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, met their supporters at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (14/2/2024).

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — General Chair of the Gerindra Party and presidential candidate who won the most votes in the 2024 Presidential Election according to the General Election Commission, Prabowo Subianto, asked his 96.2 million supporters not to take any action even in front of the Constitutional Court building. Because, maintaining the coolness of democracy and maintaining unity and integrity among all Indonesian people is the main thing.

"I, Prabowo Subianto, earnestly request all Indonesian citizens, especially the 96.2 million people who have chosen the Prabowo-Gibran pair, not to take any actions in front of the Constitutional Court building," said Prabowo in a video statement uploaded on the Gerindra Party's Instagram social media page on Friday (19/4/2024).

In addition to prohibiting rallies in front of the Constitutional Court building, Prabowo also urged his supporters not to hold any rallies in other places and on the streets. According to him, this is necessary in order to maintain calm in the democracy, uphold national unity and integrity, and preserve harmony among the entire Indonesian people.

Presidential candidate number two, Prabowo Subianto, together with the leaders of the Indonesian Forward Coalition, held a press conference following the KPU's decision on the national vote count at his residence on Kertanegara Street, South Jakarta, Wednesday (20/3/2024).

"Repeatedly I have reminded, with harmony among us, with a sense of unity, wisdom, and coolness, then Indonesia will achieve the aspirations of the nation," said Prabowo.

Prabowo also explained that the Prabowo-Gibran pair who won the most votes in the 2024 Presidential Election and had been determined by the General Election Commission was the result of hard work carried out by various parties.

Multiple times I remind that with harmony among us, with a sense of unity, wisdom, and calmness, Indonesia will achieve the nation's aspirations.

Prabowo also denied the allegations of the use of social assistance and deployment of law enforcement officials to win the Prabowo-Gibran pair. According to him, these accusations are cruel and unfounded.

Due to the accusation, many of his supporters feel disturbed. However, Prabowo urged his supporters not to be provoked by the matter.

"We ask supporters of the Prabowo-Gibran pair to always be vigilant and careful. Especially to not be provoked by anything. Moreover, by parties who desire something unpeaceful and an unrestful atmosphere," said Prabowo.

Previously, a peaceful protest plan in front of the Constitutional Court building was conveyed by the Commander of the National Campaign Team for Prabowo-Gibran, Haris Rusly Moti. The protest to be held in front of the Constitutional Court building on Friday (19/4/2024) aims to refute allegations that the victory of Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election was due to the government's misuse of social assistance.

It is predicted that this action will be attended by approximately 100,000 voters and supporters of Prabowo-Gibran. Simultaneously, his party will also submit an amicus curiae or friend of the court by the volunteer to the Constitutional Court.

Kompas has attempted to contact Haris to ask for a response regarding the planned peaceful action which will be held on Friday (19/4/2024). However, until this news was written, Haris had not responded either by telephone or short message.

Separately, the spokesperson of the Constitutional Court, Fajar Laksono Suroso, stated that prior to the announcement of the verdict on the 2024 Presidential Election dispute, which will be held on April 22, the Court has tightened security measures in the building area. The police have also secured the outside area of the Constitutional Court building.

"If there are thickening measures around the Constitutional Court building and its surroundings, but if it is outside of those areas, I am not sure of the exact number because it falls under the authority of the police. We have not been informed," said Fajar.
