20,775 Participants Take part in UTBK at Brawijaya University

Brawijaya University has prepared 1,580 computer units spread across 62 rooms in 16 locations on campus.

MALANG, KOMPAS — A total of 20,775 participants will take the Computer-Based Writing Examination-National Selection Based on the 2024 Test at Brawijaya University Malang. Regarding supervision, Brawijaya University has conducted a briefing attended by 644 supervisors, consisting of supervisors appointed by faculties and information and communication technology responsibility.

"This preparation is intended so that UTBK activities can run as expected," he said.

Although the information provided by the center for preparation is considered tight, that is, less than a month, Rosihan, who is also the Chairman of the Implementation Committee for UTBK 2024 at Brawijaya University, stated that they have prepared the UTBK as best as possible.

The Executive Coordinator of UTBK 2024 at Brawijaya University, Heri Prawoto Widodo, said that they have prepared 1,580 computer units located in 62 rooms across 16 locations in the campus.

His party has also provided detailed "signs" to supervisors regarding what must be done.

"Our supervisors were given instructions ranging from recording attendance, receiving proceedings and documents given to participants, verifying student documents, to making decisions through the supervisor application," he said.

The committee has prepared several efforts to minimize cheating that is often carried out by participants. How supervisors are observant in observing potential fraud. To support this step, one of them is using a metal detector to identify hidden items.

According to Heri, participants are only allowed to bring their participant's card, a certificate for those who have not yet obtained a diploma, and identification. They are not allowed to bring writing tools, watches, or mobile phones into the room.

"We hope that this year's UTBK runs smoothly without any disruptions, whether it is electricity or network problems. Brawijaya University itself this year only held the UTBK wave I. Compared to previous years, there are generally no changes, except for easier access and technology that is considered easier, both for participants and supervisors.

In last year's national university entrance exam (UTBK), there were 21,960 participants who took the exam at Brawijaya. That number increased by 12.7 percent compared to 2022, which only had 19,487 participants. As of the registration deadline on April 5, 2024, there were 785,058 registrants, but only 613,433 participants have completed the payment stage.
