Ministerial Composition Discussed After Prabowo-Gibran Are Appointed as Elected Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates

The composition of the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet will be discussed after the KPU determines the two of them as elected presidential and vice presidential candidates.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — Even though the selection of ministers is the president's prerogative, determining the composition of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka's cabinet will still be discussed with the party -Advanced Indonesia Coalition political party. However, the composition of the new cabinet will be discussed after Prabowo-Gibran is named as the elected presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan revealed that before the Constitutional Court (MK) issued a decision on the dispute over the results of the 2024 Presidential Election, the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) had not discussed related strategic matters new government. "After the Constitutional Court's decision and the KPU's decision, there will be discussions. "If it's still in process, it's already talking all kinds of things, it's not good," said Zulkifli during the Media Lunch at DPP PAN, South Jakarta, Tuesday (23/4/2024).

According to the plan, the KPU will appoint Prabowo-Gibran as the elected presidential and vice presidential candidate (presidential-ticket) on Wednesday (24/4/2024). Zulkifli said that Prabowo always adheres to rules, so the formation of a new cabinet can only be done after the KPU's appointment. PAN entrusts the formation of the cabinet to Prabowo-Gibran.

"Wait until this long process is finished, then the next agenda," he said.

PAN politician, Yandri Susanto, gave a press statement after the Media Lunch at PAN's central office in South Jakarta on Tuesday (23/4/2024). In this statement, Yandri said he was unaware of the names of the ministerial candidates submitted by PAN to the elected president.

Zulkifli entrusted the decision to the elected president. "Regarding Pak Prabowo's statement (regarding ministerial seats), of course it is an honor for us. PAN's journey with Pak Prabowo has been very long. It's been a long time and there have been many ups and downs. However, regarding the cabinet, it is up to the president to be elected. At PAN, there are lots of great people, please just just. "But, we understand the rules, when it comes to ministers, that is the full right of the elected president," he said.

Deputy Chairman of PAN, Yandri Susanto, said that he did not know the name of the PAN cadre who was proposed as a ministerial candidate. "How many ministers, how many of them, only the chairman knows. We have entrusted 100 percent to Bang Zulkifli Hasan, and who communicated with Mr. Prabowo was Bang Zulkifli," he said.

Regarding the possibility of the formation of a new coalition, according to Yandri, it is also within the authority of Prabowo Subianto. "It is Prabowo's full right to determine the part of the coalition or the additional coalition," he said.
