PGI asks the Prabowo-Gibran pair to embrace all elements of the nation

PGI Chairman Gomar Gultom stated that joint and hand in hand work is needed in developing the nation and country.

The atmosphere of the reading of the decision on the dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election (PHPU) by constitutional judges at the Constitutional Court, Jakarta, Monday (22/4/2024). In this way, the polarization resulting from the presidential election will end and we can now re-knit bonds of brotherhood as fellow citizens of the nation.

When contacted on Tuesday (23/4/2024) in Jakarta, Gomar Gultom stated that the task of the future president and vice president will not be easy due to the socio-economic turmoil caused by the current global unrest. Therefore, it is necessary to work together and collaborate in building the nation.

"I congratulate Mr. Prabowo Subianto and Mr. Gibran Rakabuming Raka on being elected President and Vice President. I also urge them to embrace the community and all elements of the nation, who were divided due to different choices," said Gomar.

All parties are also requested to comply with the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the dispute over the presidential election results, which was announced on Monday (22/4/2024). The decision is a final and binding constitutional solution to end the dispute over the presidential election results filed by the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pairs.

He calls on all elements of the community to fully support Prabowo's leadership as the elected president, regardless of party background or political choices. The people have made their choice and the Prabowo-Gibran pair has obtained legal strength. It's time to respect the people's choice with a spirit of democracy. Appreciation of Anies and Ganjar

With the decision of the Constitutional Court, he also urged an end to polarization resulting from the presidential election. Gomar Gultom also highly appreciated Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD who also accepted the Constitutional Court's decision. The attitude of both pairs of candidates also calmed their supporters to unite in building this country under the leadership of the elected president.

"Of course, the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) cannot satisfy all parties. However, for the sake of the nation's interests, all parties should be willing and give the opportunity to the elected presidential and vice-presidential couple, Mr. Prabowo and Mr. Gibran, to lead the country in accordance with the constitution, vision, mission, and programs that have been conveyed during the campaign period," said the General Secretary of the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti.

Muhammadiyah invites all groups of the community to be loyal to Prabowo-Gibran. Even though they were on different sides during the presidential election, the entire society must come together to support and oversee the new government that will be formed after the inauguration on October 20, 2024 (Kompas.id, 23/4/2024).
