Bali Prepares to Welcome the World Water Forum

Bali's readiness to host the 10th World Water Forum continues to be pursued. Support is also provided for the smooth running of WWF.

DENPASAR, KOMPAS — Bali's readiness to host the 10th World Water Forum on 18-25 May 2024 continues to be pursued. The Bali Provincial Government has received support for the smooth implementation of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali.

The immigration authorities through Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bali, ensure immigration readiness to make the international meeting on water a success. In a press release from the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Tuesday (23/4/2024), the Head of the Class I Immigration Office for Special Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) Ngurah Rai, Badung, Suhendra stated that his party had prepared a special arrival route for World Water Forum delegates attending separate from the regular passenger arrival route in the immigration area of ​​I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

"We have prepared three special counters for delegates with a total of 12 officers," said Suhendra in the press release.

Support for the smooth running of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali was also conveyed by PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara. Through the Manager of Communication Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus, Ahad Rahedi, Pertamina Patra Niaga has also estimated an increase in the consumption of fuel during the international event in Bali.

The Manager of Communication Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, Ahad Rahedi, provided a statement regarding the readiness of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus in maintaining the smoothness of tourism activities in Bali.

"The highest estimate of the increase in consumption is between 10 and 15 percent, including for avtur," said Ahad Rahedi in Denpasar on Tuesday (23/4/2024).

The increase in fuel consumption was also influenced by the increase in tourism activities in Bali in line with the holding of this international forum. The increase in fuel needs can still be met from fuel stocks in Bali.

Meanwhile, at the coordination meeting of the 10th World Water Forum national committee in Nusa Dua, Badung, Saturday (20/4/2024), the chairman of the coordination meeting was Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan emphasized preparations for the 10th World Water Forum (WWF), including preparing and improving the event venue and other supporting facilities, including at the airport.

According to Luhut, President Joko Widodo also emphasized the need for more intensive promotion and publicity to increase the participation of countries around the world.

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, gave a statement after leading a coordination meeting for the 10th World Water Forum national committee in Nusa Dua, Badung on Saturday (20/4/2024).

A press release from the Communication Bureau Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries stated that the World Water Forum (WWF) is an international forum initiated by the World Water Council (WWC) and held every three years involving stakeholders and communities in water field. Indonesia's presence as host of the 10th WWF in Bali will strengthen Indonesia's leadership in the water sector.

In a series of national committee coordination meetings in Nusa Dua, National Police Chief General (Pol) Listyo Sigit Prabowo and TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subiyanto expressed the readiness of the National Police and TNI to launch and secure the implementation of the Water Forum Worldwide in Bali. The National Police will hold a police operation codenamed "Puri Agung" involving more than 5,700 personnel. Security for World Water Forum activities in Bali was strengthened by the deployment of TNI personnel.

Through the Segara Kerthi ritual, it is hoped that the 10th WWF event in Bali will run smoothly and successfully.
