JAKARTA, KOMPAS — President Joko Widodo paid his last respects to the late BRA Mooryati Soedibyo at the funeral home which is also his private residence on Jalan Mangunsarkoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (24/4/2024) afternoon. Apart from the President, there were also a number of state officials, former state officials, national businessmen and other public figures who paid their last respects to the deceased.

The President arrived at the location around 11:40 AM. Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, the daughter of the deceased, welcomed and accompanied the President into the house hall where the body was laid out. The President was accompanied by the Minister of State Secretariat Pratikno and the Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung. The President prayed for the deceased together with the family.

Afterwards, the President met with the deceased's family in a separate room. The President left the funeral home at 12.10 pm without giving any statement to the press.

Apart from the President, former government officials were also present, including the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs 2009-2014 Hatta Rajasa, Minister of Industry 2009-2014 MS Hidayat, Head of the Creative Economy Agency 2015-2019 Triawan Munaf, and former Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency Boy Rafli Amar.

Present at the event were the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arsjad Rasjid; national entrepreneur Garibaldi "Boy" Tohir; as well as several public figures, such as Miss Indonesia 2004 Artika Sari Devi with her husband, Baim; and Miss Indonesia 2001 Angelina Sondakh.

During an interview with a journalist at an event, Putri stated that her mother always takes care of her health and fitness. However, due to her age of 96 years old, even seemingly minor illnesses like gastric problems can be quite detrimental to her health. "There have been several instances of infections like gastritis. She has already recovered and has been permitted to go home by the doctor. But for an elderly person, gastric problems can be extraordinary," she said.

The deceased enjoyed his old age very happily because he was proud to watch his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.

During her lifetime, as Putri said, Mooryati was known for her commitment to the world of education, cosmetics industry, and trade. She said that the deceased enjoyed her old age very happily because she was proud to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow up.

Mooryati passed away on Wednesday (24/4/2024) at 01.00 WIB at the age of 96. The deceased, born on January 6, 1928, was buried in Tapos, Bogor, West Java on Wednesday afternoon.

Putri said that her mother rarely meets people since the Covid-19 pandemic. This decision was made in accordance with the doctor's advice as her mother's condition is getting weaker. "If she catches even a slight flu, it's a hassle because she needs to be treated and so on. We cherish and enjoy being together with her in the last three to four years of her life," she said. Her mother enjoys her old age after completing all her tasks and responsibilities.

"After becoming a vice chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, he no longer held a position at Mustika Ratu. He devoted himself to the world of education and shared what he had experienced in the world of business, beauty, and femininity," said Putri.

He remembers when Mooryati was able to fulfill her duties as the leader of the MPR while also completing the difficult task of writing a doctoral dissertation at the University of Indonesia. At that time, Mooryati took the Strategic Management major at the age of over 75 years old.

"He remained enthusiastic in studying, researching, and completing his dissertation. He was exemplary in learning and working until completion. Hopefully, all of that will serve as an additional weight on the scale of goodness for the deceased," he said.
