JAKARTA, KOMPAS — After the General Election Commission appointed Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as elected president and vice president for the 2024-2029 period, a number of political parties were on standby to welcome the pilkada. Political parties stated that they were ready to continue cooperation in the old coalition or assemble a new coalition to make the regional elections a success.

The hope of maintaining the old coalition while opening up opportunities to assemble a new coalition, for example, was expressed by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). In the 2024 Pilpres, PKS together with the Nasdem Party and the National Awakening Party (PKB) formed a Change Coalition to support candidate pair number 1, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar.

After the appointment of Prabowo and Gibran as the elected president and vice president, the PKS stated that they would consolidate internally to welcome the regional elections. The PKS is also open to the possibility of forming a new coalition with the elected government.

Secretary General of the PKS, Aboe Bakar Al-Habsyi, stated that cooperation with the Coalition for Change will continue. Aboe Bakar stated that after the plenary meeting to determine the elected president and vice president at the KPU, he will attend an internal meeting of the Coalition for Change, including meeting with Nasdem and PKB. Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo-Gibran, Rosan Roeslani, said that the task of the success team had ended with the appointment of the Prabowo-Gibran pair as elected president and vice president for the 2024 period. -2029 by the KPU.

Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU), Hasyim Asy'ari, stated that Prabowo-Gibran had received 96,214,691 votes or 58.59 percent of the total valid votes nationwide and met at least 20 percent of the votes in each province scattered across 38 provinces in Indonesia.
