Prabowo Did Not Attend PKS Halalbihalal Invitation

Even though Prabowo did not attend the halalbihalal, PKS is confident that a meeting with Prabowo will take place to determine the direction of the coalition.

The Chairman of the Nation's Awakening Party, Muhaimin Iskandar, was welcomed by the Secretary General of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Aboe Bakar Al-Habsyi, at the PKS DPP office in Jakarta on Saturday (27/4/2024).

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The elected presidential candidate and General Chair of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto did not attend the halalbihalal Eid al-Fitr invitation held by the Prosperous Justice Party at the DPP PKS< /a>, Jakarta, Saturday (27/4/2024). However, PKS believes that the meeting with Prabowo is just a matter of waiting for a suitable time between the two.

Secretary General of PKS, Aboe Bakar Al-Habsyi stated that a meeting between PKS and Prabowo will definitely take place. His party has already engaged in dialogue with the Prabowo camp and they just need to confirm a suitable time for both parties to meet.

"We just have to wait, everyone has already received their share, only PPP is left. They will also get their share later," said Aboe before the start of the Halalbihalal and Tasyakuran Milad Ke-22 PKS event.

The Chairman of the General Election Commission, Hasyim Asyari, handed over the letter of appointment of the elected president and vice president to Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the KPU RI Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (24/4/2024).

Aboe stated that Prabowo did not attend the PKS halalbihalal event because he had to attend another activity. "Prabowo has already mentioned that there is also an event like this at his house with his extended family, so he asked for permission (not to attend). It is possible that he will be represented by Mr. Muzani," said Aboe.

So far, Ahmad Muzani, the Secretary General of the Gerindra Party's Central Executive Board, who is also a Vice Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), has not yet arrived until 10.30 a.m. (WIB).

Mr. Prabowo has stated that there is a similar event happening in his extended family's home, so he requested permission to not attend. It is possible that he will be represented by Mr. Muzani.

Aboe said, apart from inviting Prabowo, PKS also invited all candidate pairs in the 2024 Presidential Election, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. From Kompas's monitoring until 10.15 WIB, Anies and Muhaimin, who is also the General Chair of the National Awakening Party, were present at the PKS DPP office. However, Ganjar-Mahfud was not yet visible.

"PKS indeed invites all elements of the nation. "We no longer look at different camps in the 2024 presidential election," said Aboe.

The Chairman of the Nasdem Party, Surya Paloh, was welcomed by the President of PPP, Ahmad Syaikhu, and the Secretary General of PPP, Aboe Bakar Al-Habsyi, at the Halalbihalal and Tasyakuran Milad Ke-22 event at the PPP central office in Jakarta on Saturday (27/4/2024).

A number of high-ranking political party officials were present, namely the Chairman of the Nasdem Party Surya Paloh, Acting General Chairman of the United Development Party Mardiono, and Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Utut Adianto.

The Chairman of DPD La Nyalla Mattalitti and the Chairman of MPR Bambang Soesatyo were also present. The guests were welcomed by the Chairman of the PKS Majelis Syuro, Salim Segaf Al-Jufri, the Deputy Chairman of the PKS Dewan Syuro, Hidayat Nur Wahid, and the President of PKS, Ahmad Syaikhu.

Surya Paloh added that PKS is a close friend of Nasdem. For this reason, he fulfilled the invitation for a friendly and halalbihalal meeting held by PKS.
