President Jokowi started the morning in Mataram by riding a bamboo bicycle

Wednesday morning, President Joko Widodo rode his bamboo bicycle in Mataram City. Residents were enthusiastic to see the President.

The President and entourage were in Mataram as part of a work visit to NTB that took place from April 30 to May 2, 2024.

MATARAM, KOMPAS — President Joko Widodo held a working visit to West Nusa Tenggara, April 30-May 2 2024. After Tuesday ( 30/4/2024) evening greeted Mataram residents at the Mie Gacoan shop, on Wednesday (1/5/2024) morning, the President rode bamboo bikes in Mataram City.

According to Kompas, President Jokowi and his entourage left the hotel where they were staying overnight on their bamboo bicycles at around 06.15 WITA.

In front of the hotel, a number of residents were waiting for the President. They greeted the President when he left the hotel.

From the hotel, the President and his entourage crossed Jenderal Sudirman Street, turned onto Terusan Bung Hatta Street, and returned to Jenderal Sudirman Street until the Rembiga traffic light in Mataram City. After that, the President returned to the hotel. The weather in Mataram City was very bright in the morning.

President Joko Widodo and his entourage went for a morning bicycle ride in the city of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday (1/5/2024). The President was in Mataram as part of a work visit to NTB.

Throughout the journey, the entourage of President Jokowi, who was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman and Acting Governor of NTB Lalu Gita Ariadi, received warm greetings from the residents. "Mr. Jokowi, Mr. Jokowi," the residents said.

After biking for approximately 30 minutes, President Jokowi returned to the hotel where he stayed during his time in NTB while cycling. However, before entering the hotel, President Jokowi took the time to greet and take photos with residents who had been waiting around the hotel.

"I've been here since this morning. Alhamdulillah, I'm glad to be able to see the President in person and capture the moment of him cycling," said Juned (33), a resident of Mataram City.

On that occasion, residents also received basic necessities which, among other things, contained rice, biscuits and cooking oil from the President.

Another resident, Wati, who also sells around the hotel, admitted to not expecting to meet and take a selfie with the President. Wati said she had been waiting for President Jokowi's arrival since yesterday morning.

"I was touched. Earlier, when I saw the Father, I cried. I don't know, I couldn't say anything, but I am just happy," said Wati.

Fauzi, along with other residents, is very happy to meet with President Jokowi. According to him, the moment is an unforgettable opportunity and experience.

"Wow, keep shouting so I can meet Pak Jokowi. Actually, my brother also (screamed), but I was called his aide and was given a greeting. "Alhamdulillah, thank you Mr Jokowi," said Fauzi.

In that occasion, residents also received food packages, which among others, contained rice, biscuits, and cooking oil from the President. "I was calling out for the President, but unfortunately he had gone into the hotel. However, the security personnel gave us the food package," said Hayani (43).

The arrival of President Joko Widodo and his entourage was warmly welcomed by visitors and residents who intentionally came to the Mie Gacoan stall in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara on Tuesday evening (30/4/2024). The President was in Lombok as part of a work visit to West Nusa Tenggara that took place from April 30 to May 2, 2024.

After a morning bike ride, on Wednesday afternoon the President is planned to have lunch at one of the restaurants on Jalan Terusan Bung Hatta. Only in the evening, the President will play soccer at Rembiga Field in Mataram.

During his visit to NTB, President Jokowi is scheduled to inaugurate the Presidential Road in West Lombok and the Tiu Sintuk Dam in West Sumbawa as well as visit the Seketeng Market in Sumbawa.
