West Java Regional Police Service Car Drivers Who Collided on the MBZ Toll Road Will Be Examined by Propam

The National Police service vehicle involved in the accident on the MBZ Km 14 Toll Road, Bekasi, belonged to one of the main officials of the West Java Regional Police.

A black official vehicle belonging to the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) was seen stopping on the side of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Toll Road, at kilometer 14 in the Bekasi area, West Java, after being involved in an accident with a minibus on Monday (6/5/2024). There were no casualties in this incident.

BANDUNG, KOMPAS — Investigators in the professional and security sector of the West Java Regional Police will examine the driver who was riding in the West Java Regional Police's official car who experienced an accident in Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Toll Road Kilometer 14, Monday (6/5/2024). The West Java Regional Police official car collided with a minibus on MBZ Toll Road which is still in the Bekasi area, West Java. The accident was handled by the Bekasi City Metro Police.

From a video recording on the social media account dashcam_owner_indonesia, the West Java Police official vehicle involved in the accident was black in color. This official vehicle collided with a silver minibus around 07.00 a.m. on the MBZ overpass toll road.

The official vehicle bears the license plate number 7-VIII. According to the West Java Regional Police's data, this vehicle is usually used by one of the top officials of the West Java Regional Police.

The official police vehicle, a Toyota Fortuner, was being driven by a high-ranking police official with the initials MRA from the West Java Regional Police. The accident occurred while MRA was on his way from Bandung to Jakarta, with only one person in the car.

Jules stated that MRA is still being investigated by the investigators of the Bekasi Metropolitan Police. MRA will also be examined by the Profession and Security Investigators (Propam) of the West Java Regional Police.

"MRA will undergo an examination at West Java Regional Police Propam after the accident investigation is complete. "The MRA and the driver of this minibus have communicated to handle the impact of a two-vehicle accident," he said.

A government vehicle was driving from the side of the road and collided with a minibus that was in the slow lane. The collision caused the minibus to swerve and hit the roadside barrier.

He added that the West Java Regional Police regretted the accident involving one of their members. He also urged the public and all toll road users to drive carefully.

Mudik travelers using the MBZ Elevated Road took the opposite lane when exiting at Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Kilometer 47, Karawang, West Java, on Saturday (6/4/2024).

Meanwhile, Vice President Corporate Secretary and Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paalo, stated that the accident involving two vehicles occurred at MBZ Toll Road, at kilometer 14+200. The two vehicles involved in the accident came from the same direction, namely Cikampek, towards Jakarta.

Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, the official vehicle drove from the side of the road and hit the minibus that was on the slow lane. This collision caused the minibus to swerve and hit the road divider wall.

"Until 08.25 AM, the officers have finished handling the incident. The traffic condition on MBZ elevated road has returned to normal," he said.

Ria added that PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) apologized for the inconvenience caused by the accident. She urged road users to remain cautious and maintain a safe distance when driving, obey traffic signs, and ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy.
