Tasya Kamila, Contributions in the Environmental Sector

Since the beginning, Tasya Kamila has been active in the environmental sector to inspire people.

Since she was a teenager, as a public figure, actress and former child singer Tasya Kamila (31) not only wants to entertain her fans, but she also wants to move in something that contributes to the state and nation. The singer of the song "Holiday Has Arrived" chose to inspire people in the field environment.

"Exploring the beauty of nature throughout Indonesia along with its problems is very interesting to me. Learning about waste management systems or any innovations aimed at preserving the environment is also fascinating," said Tasya during Pertamina Goes to Campus 2024 event at the Bandung Institute of Technology, in Bandung, West Java, on Monday (6/5/2024).

Tasya's interest in the environment began when she was still in junior high school. In 2005, Tasya was appointed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry as an environmental ambassador inspiring young people to love the environment.

Then, in 2015, Tasya founded a non-governmental organization called Green Movement Indonesia so that she could create her own projects related to environmental issues. Currently, the focus of projects carried out at Green Movement Indonesia is waste processing.

According to him, even if the garbage is already properly disposed of in its designated place, if the garbage at home is not sorted and processed, it will still become a pile of garbage in the final disposal site (TPA) which will eventually produce methane gas. Therefore, Tasya invites the community to work together to cultivate the habit of properly sorting and processing waste.

Active in the environmental field, Tasya is also known as a multi-talented and intelligent individual. In 2018, she earned a Master's degree in Public Administration after graduating from Columbia University in New York, USA. There, she also studied about the environment.
