Cirebon City Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Rano Hadiyanto said the victim's body was reportedly found in the boarding house's room, Thursday afternoon. The victim was allegedly found in the cupboard. "That's initial information. "But, when officers arrived, (the victim) was already on the floor," he said.
The body, which was a resident of Indramayu Regency, was initially found by one of the victim's colleagues. The witness then reported it to the police. From a temporary examination, a wound was found on the victim's head. However, they have not confirmed the cause of the injury.
"Later, of course, we have to wait for the results of the autopsy and post-mortem (victim's body)," he said.
The authorities are still investigating whether the victim had any missing valuables. From his identification card, it is known that the victim with the initials A did not have a job.
Based on the initial investigation, the victim is suspected to be a victim of murder. However, they are still awaiting the results of the crime scene investigation and the examination of several witnesses.
"Allegedly the victim (is related to) a criminal act. "Hopefully tomorrow there will be an update (development)," he said.
So far, the police have only requested statements from two witnesses who are colleagues of the victim. The police will also confiscate the CCTV footage from the boarding house. "The CCTV footage will be combined with the crime scene investigation and witness interrogation, according to the investigation process," said Rano.
According to him, this is the first time there has been a suspected murder case in that boarding house. His party will investigate the case, including examining the owner of the boarding house and the parties who had communicated with the victim.
Anik Cahya (18), a friend of the victim, said that the victim had only been staying in the boarding house for about a month. Anik's older sibling was the first person to find the victim's body.
"(The) victim's body was found in the cupboard," he said. "The information was that the victim's cell phone was lost," he said.
