JAKARTA, KOMPAS — President Joko Widodo has asked for tight aircraft inspection. Passengers safety must be the top priority in the transportation system so that accidents can be avoided.
The President made the remarks while inspecting the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Aircraft Evacuation Command Post in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Wednesday (20/1/2021). "I want in the transportation sector, safety is the main thing," said the President.
The President did not want unworthy aircraft to be allowed to fly because they could endanger passengers. "I ask for an immediate follow up, both by the KNKT (National Transportation Safety Committee) and (Ministry) of Transportation, especially the inspection and supervision of planes that will fly for the sake of the safety of the community, for the safety of passengers," said the President.
Accompanied by Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and TNI (Indonesian Military) Commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, the President directly inspected the evacuation activities at the emergency command post. The President also had a close look at a number of findings during the evacuation.

"I express my gratitude for this compensation and it will be resolved immediately for all victims and passengers," said the President while conveying deep condolences to the families of the victims of the SJ-182 Sriwijaya Air plane crash.
Appreciation
The President expressed his appreciation and gratitude for all parties who have worked hard to track down the victims. As of last night, the number of identified victims increased by three people. The National Police\'s Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team managed to identify the bodies of Yulian Andhika, 33; Ratih Windania, 32, and Theophilus Lau Ura, 22, through the matching of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
Therefore, the total number of victims identified was 43 out of 62 in the aircraft manifest. The identification of the bodies of the three (new) victims used comparative DNA from their respective biological mothers.The DVI team also received and examined 324 bags containing body part and 263 bags of their belongings. "We handed over five more bodies to the families so that a total of 32 bodies have been handed over for burial," said Commander of the DVI Center for Medicine and Health of the National Police, Sr. Comr. Hery
Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has issued 40 documents for the identified victims. A total of 29 documents have been submitted to the families.
"Other documents are in the process and are awaiting confirmation from the families to be submitted in the regions or at the same time as the handover of the bodies," said Director of Civil Registration at the Home Ministry, Handayani Ningrum. (DAN)
